Pawsitive Fit trainer and behavior consultant Susan Sarubin began her study of learning theory and animal behavior at Boston University, where she received her B.A. in Psychology. After years of training her own dogs for AKC titles in the conformation ring and in field trial competition, she decided to commit to her love of dogs with a career change from the health club industry to training dogs professionally.

Susan attended the Canine Behavior and Training Intern Academy at Peaceable Paws, LLC, studying with renowned positive trainer, author and behavior consultant, Pat Miller. She continued her studies at Peaceable Paws in a formal apprentice program and as an assistant to Pat Miller, learning the latest and most effective positive training techniques available. Susan then worked as a trainer at Peaceable Paws (Hagerstown, MD), teaching Good Manners classes for puppies and adult dogs, in addition to founding Pawsitive Fit, LLC, offering private, in-home training and behavioral consultations in the Greater Baltimore area for three years prior to moving to Easton, MD. She is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), and is certified in Pet First Aid & CPR by the American Safety & Health Institute. In addition to publishing a quarterly newsletter, Pawsitive Times, Susan writes feature articles for local and national dog publications including Baltimore Dog Magazine and The Whole Dog Journal.

Susan lives in the Easton Village neighborhood of Easton with her husband and three Rhodesian Ridgebacks. She is the Maryland State Coordinator for Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue, Inc. When not training dogs, Susan teaches indoor cycling classes and is a competitive age-group triathlete and cyclist.
