I have a 4-year-old yellow Lab named Jake. We contacted Pawsitive Fit because he was having some issues with resource guarding (aggression around food) and the way Jake greeted my guests when they came to our home. I was at my wit's end. After speaking with Susan on the phone, I was sure she was the trainer for Jake. We set up an appointment to come and visit with Jake at our home, and when she left I was confident that Pawsitive Fit was going to be able to help us with our problems. It took a few training sessions and some work on my part, but I must say that by the end of the sessions Jake was a changed dog. I was very happy with the services I received from Susan at Pawsitive Fit. Ann Leyh After finding an abandoned Rhodesian Ridgeback, we went through Baltimore County's adoption protocol and brought “Barney” home. We soon realized Barney was loveable but had no prior training and was completely lacking in manners. Susan was recommended by our vet to help us bring out Barney's potential. The competent, compassionate way Susan taught Barney manners and the pointers she showed me to enhance Barney's learning process are assuring he will have a long, happy life and that my family will enjoy every minute we’re with him. Barney is such a good boy…thanks Susan, for bringing that out in him. It's true you do teach pets and their people too. Carol McCready Susan Sarubin of Pawsitive Fit was recommended to us by a local veterinarian. We contacted her after we adopted our sweet Pit Bull, Marty, who suffered from separation anxiety and also needed to learn some "basic manners" as a big exuberant boy who didn't know his own strength. Susan met and evaluated Marty and then worked with us on his particular needs as well as the basics of how to be a well-behaved canine citizen. Susan was patient with Marty (and most helpful of all, with me!) and was happy to proceed at the pace we needed to absorb the techniques we needed to learn. Working one-on-one with her rather than being in a "one size fits all" class was exactly what we needed, and we so appreciated her very positive methods which are based not on dominance, but in helping dogs learn a new way of behaving in a way that is interesting and rewarding for them. I highly recommend Susan as a trainer. Bonnie Hurwitz After working with Susan to train our rescue puppy, Gwynn, we have been delighted with how quickly she learned. Gwynn responds to such words as 'sit', 'down', and 'wait'. She plays appropriately with both children and elderly people in our neighborhood. This is definitely a result of Susan's training. Susan went beyond our expectations." Linda Stone Bella, a beautiful purebred German Shepherd, came to me severely neglected as well as unsocialized and aggressive with dogs. She had spent her entire life in a 10X6 pen with no walks, often no water, no shelter and very little attention. After an experience with another dog trainer who seriously injured my dog, I wanted to make sure Bella had nothing but a loving touch to nurture her natural German Shepherd smarts. Susan of Pawsitive Fit came to me with loving exuberance and helped me see the full possibilities of my dog’s natural talents (which I never doubted). I now have some great tools for walking with Bella in our dog-loving neighborhood and bonding with her yet further as we become a full fledged team. Susan’s long experience with dogs and her great love of our canine better halves comes through in her approach. She was patient with me since I was in a hectic time, and dedicated. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to develop a loving partnership with their dog and bring out the natural best in their canine companion. Corinne Borel Before working with Susan, walking my dog was a painful and stressful experience with the dog pulling constantly and lunging uncontrollably at passing dogs. Our walks ended with me being irritated and with an aching shoulder and back. Now, walking the dog |
